Vancouver's Grateful Dead Tribute GD/BC keeps booking shows and I keep joining them for the fun. It's a serious flash back for me to continue performing this extensive songbook and I must say the band is stellar. I love adding the harmony "sugar" while Gord & Brad (Buddy & the Scarecrow) hold down already tight harmonies. I love looking over to see my dear FatCat companion Tyler Gibson (from over 30 yrs back) on keys and a stage full of great musicians in the haze of a fabulous jam. The venues are full of dancing folks and the feeling of excitement from a dead-icated following is unrivaled for any other fan base I have experienced. Being part of this talented tribute and NOT dealing with any booking and/or managing is a major bonus for me too! The shows are much later and much louder than my 22 yrs as chanteuse with Vancouver Hot Club of Mars but for now….I just can't resist.
We have a real gem in graphic designer/fan John Ridd who just keeps knocking posters out with enthusiasm. We also have a sweet connection on stage between the 8 of us. Come on out to shake your bones and be sure to bring your dancing shoes….for a real good time.
